Funding basics
What is Rolling vs fixed deadline?
Whether applications are accepted continuously or only by a set date.
A fixed deadline means all applications are due on one date and reviewed together as a competitive cohort. A rolling deadline means the funder accepts and reviews applications continuously until funds are exhausted.
Rolling programs reward early submission, because later applicants compete for a shrinking pool. Fixed deadline programs reward planning, since every competitor has the same amount of time.
