What is In-kind contribution?
Non-cash goods or services counted toward a project's value.
An in-kind contribution is a non-cash donation of goods, services, space, or volunteer time that supports a project. It is valued at fair market rate and documented like any other project cost.
Funders that allow in-kind matches usually require a written valuation method and records. Volunteer hours, for example, are commonly valued at a published national or state hourly rate.
